Canva has released Craft, its first internally developed image generation model. Craft uses a two-model architecture: a planner that writes out composition details before rendering, and a renderer that executes the plan at up to 2K resolution across 30-plus aspect ratios. Separating planning from rendering means layout and text legibility are resolved before any pixels are generated. Because edits target only the planned element that changed, revisions do not disturb adjacent elements. Craft ranks second on DesignArena's global image generation leaderboard, behind only OpenAI.
