Newsletter coverage confirmed Reddit had nearly fallen off ChatGPT's citation radar
A report published August 19 found that businesses had been engineering blog content and seeding Reddit with bot-powered promotions to manipulate AI chatbot citation patterns, adding context to the 86% drop in Reddit's share of ChatGPT Search citations that PromptWatch data linked to an OpenAI search change around August 8. Reddit told the publication it was catching 25,000 spam posts per day and had upgraded tools to detect coordinated fake behavior.
