Salesforce Embeds CRM in Claude via Claudeforce Partnership
The arrangement moves CRM work out of Salesforce's own interface and into Claude, raising open questions about how software companies maintain their economic role when AI handles workflows their products once managed. The industry does not yet have a clear playbook for how this shift will change revenue models.
Salesforce and Anthropic have launched Claudeforce, embedding Salesforce CRM directly into Claude so sellers can run workflows without opening Salesforce's interface. Claudeforce ships with 37 prebuilt sales skills; pilot access is available now, with an open beta planned for September 2026. The integration uses Headless 360 and MCP under existing Salesforce permissions, with a single admin connection replacing per-user setup. Under the broader partnership, Claude becomes the default model across Slack, Salesforce in Claude, Headless 360, and Agentforce Coworker; Salesforce charges for headless API usage while customers contract separately with Anthropic for inference. The Claudeforce launch fits a broader pattern in which software and financial services companies connect proprietary data to AI interfaces via MCP, shifting users away from traditional software screens.
