Anthropic has added background computer-use to Claude Cowork and Claude Code, letting Claude click, type, and open applications on a user's desktop while the user works on other things. The feature is available to Pro and Max subscribers and runs on Mac. Windows support exists but has been described as ugly. Users can assign desktop tasks to Claude and then focus elsewhere while Claude operates approved applications autonomously.
